Thanksgiving Hunts at Cypress Creek Hunting Lodge

The day after Thanksgiving we had a father and son team, Rodney and Jack, return to Cypress Creek Hunting Lodge for another successful South Carolina hog hunting trip.  On their last trip it was young Jack that took a huge 200#+ boar.  This trip it was his dad that harvested a big tasty dry sow to take back to PA.  Rodney and Jack really know how to spend some quality time in the outdoors.

We also had Mr. Bob from FL back again and this time he brought his wonderful wife to share his hunting experience.  On Bob’s last trip he took a real nice 7pt buck. This time after a miss or two Mr. Bob took an unusual Pie-bald Doe.

Bob is a retired US Marine and has managed a gun range in FL for years.  He is very knowledgeable about guns and really knows how to use them.

Also joining us this week for Thanksgiving hunts at Cypress Creek Hunting Lodge we had Pete and Scott from VT on their first visit to Cypress Creek Hunting Lodge for a few days of South Carolina deer hunting.  After seeing a number of deer and a couple of misses, they both managed to zero in on several deer to take back home.  This was their first trip out of Vermont to hunt and we are glad they chose to “Pursue the Experience” with us at Cypress Creek.  After seeing some hogs they are planning to come back soon for some South Carolina hog hunting in the low country.  We look forward to their next trip.

Once again this season we had our charter guest and great friend Mr. Frank D back to do some more SC hunting.  He just can’t get enough and always manages to take home the goods!  This trip Frank took another buck and a nice wild hog back to NY.  Frank is always the life of the party at Cypress Creek and if you have ever hunted with us very much, chances are you have meet Mr. Frank!  Guess what, his is already planning to come back in January for some more wild boar hunting.  See ya soon buddy!

As we enter into December you need to remember that we normally have our second rut of the season in the middle to late December.  Big ole bucks chasing the young does of the season and the older unbred does.  It’s a great time to get a last chance at a really great buck this year.
