February is Hog Time
February is Hog Time. The February SC Hog Hunting started out outstanding and has been as good as it can get, but with mixed weather it has been a little challenging. February is Hog Time. For the most part the Hog Hunting has been great when the wind and rain has allowed. Once again Cypress Creek has been honored with hunters from all parts of the country and most have been our annual friends that often hunt with us. We have also enjoyed sharing our great hunting with many new hunters with plans to return soon. We have been extremely busy this season with hunting and sometimes we didn’t get pictures of all of our hunters and game harvested, so we appreciate it when our guest can email their pictures of their harvest and sites while hunting with us. We will try to get as many pictures as we can on the blog.
This year we seem to be having an epidemic of “Hog Fever”. It seems to be a record year for shots missed by hunters that seem to be expert shots on our range. Many times it is new hunters or at least hunters new to hunting wild hogs, but sometimes the big tasty beast seem to cause a moment of shock when they finally appear. The excitement of the hunt is why we love our hunting the way we do and God willing, there is always the next hunt.
Now for a few of our hunters and their harvest.
This nice boar was taken by Matt from Charlotte, NC while down hunting with his friends. Joe also took a hog but no pictures were available.
Danny headed up this group from NC and also took a nice sow home for the freezer.
Our good friend Wayne from Hampton, VA was back down with his hunting buddies from VA and MD. Even after a few misses this group managed to take home plenty of meat from their annual SC Hog Hunt at Cypress Creek. First successful hunter was Jay with a huge trophy boar. Way to go Jay!
Dr. Carl was the next successful hunter when he took a giant rare white boar. Now this orthodonist has a huge set of teeth to look at.
Brandon and Ben were the next hunters in the group to add to the pot with more nice boars and sows. Seven + hogs for this groups final score. Way to go guys!
Jerry got his hog on the last evening hunt to complete a very successful hunting trip and a great time.
John our good friend was down again from MD with his son Eric, to hit the woods in pursuit of the SC Hogs and did pretty darn good! John took a fine boar and a sow one afternoon. It’s always a pleasure to spend time hunting with our friend John. Way to go buddy! Eric, John’s son also did his part when he made a perfect shot on a tasty sow.
We had a great time sharing the hunting with all of our guest. Wish we had pictures of everyone and all the hunting success and missed opportunites but as we always say “that’s hunting”.
We always like to include a few of our recent trail cam pictures for our readers, so here they are again.
