NorEaster Does Not Stop Great SC Hunting
Our annual NC buddies Bill & Billy were down again for some more South Carolina deer hunting. Billy took another nice 8pt buck and his dad Bill settled his sights on a nice big doe. These guys have been hunting with us here at Cypress Creek Hunting Lodge for years, they agree we have Great SC Hunting, and they always take home nice bucks.
Some of our great friends from Orlando FL Bass Pro Shops were down again this past week for some more SC deer hunting. Mickey and his two sons Brent & Brian always manage to get their deer. Last year it was Brian with a big buck, but this year the big buck award went to Brent. Brent took a heavy rack bruser 8pt buck. Mickey shot a tasty doe to take home to FL. The group organizer Chuck held out for a really special buck and almost closed the deal but the buck never gave him the right shot. Bigger and better next year Chuck!
Again this year we had our friends from Staten Island, NY down to do a deer/boar combo hunt, and it did pay off. Wayne and his son Joseph both took a buck and a doe while Uncle John brought home the bacon with two big hogs at one time. Way to go Uncle John!
We look forward to more fun and hunting with you guys soon! By the way, our Staten Island hunters had to delay their hunt by one week due to Hurricane Sandy. We are thankful that they weathered the storm and pray for those who lost so much during the big storm.
Two of our other annual hog hunters, Thomas and James came down again to do some more SC hog hunting. They come down once a year for a one day hunt and both managed take home a hog each.
Our great friend David from GA was back again for his fourth hunt of 2012. David has been successful on all of his hunts taking hogs, turkeys, big bucks and does. David always seems to get the job done. This trip he took a 187# 8pt buck and a doe. Way to go again buddy!
We also had Eric and his 12 yr old son Bubba down for their first hunt with us in hopes of Bubba taking his first hog. Bubba did have a couple of nice hogs to come out at his stand, but had some wood in the way of his bullet and deflected the shot. Just a lucky hog this time Bubba. These guys plan to be back soon for more hog hunting and we will be ready.
From time to time we have our guides go out and harvest a doe or wild hog for meat to serve our guests. This week our lady guide Ann took a nice big dry sow for our lodge dinners. This will make for some outstanding pork dishes for our guests in the weeks to come, so many thanks to Ann.
Some of our last guests before the Thanksgiving holidays were our friends Peter from NY and John from Toronto, Canada. They came down again to Cypress Creek Hunting Lodge for some SC deer hunting.
After missing a really big buck John managed to put the crosshairs on a smaller buck and a doe to take home to Toronto. Peter also took home a small buck and a doe for his freezer. Way to go guys and we’ll see you in the spring for some SC hog hunting and we look forward to it.
Our monthly hunters Gene, Randy & Joe from NC were down again for their one day hunt. Joe took a nice big boar again. These guys have hunted with us one day every month for over 10 years. They love SC hog hunting with us at Cypress Creek Hunting Lodge and have had plenty of success over the years.
Well this wraps it up until after Thanksgiving and we hope all of you had a Blessed Thanksgiving Holiday with your family and friends. Our second rut kicks in usually during the middle of December and the hog action is really picked up with the cooler weather. Give Becky at call and come “Pursue the Experience” with us at Cypress Creek Hunting Lodge.
